Are You Treating Your Skin Right?

Are you treating your skin right?

Are you cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing the way you should be?

I get asked skin care questions all of the time so I figured I would write about your most common questions.

Cleansing 101:

Let's get started! First, wash your hands. Splash warm water on to your face and décolletage (neck). Take a dime size amount of cleanser (not exfoliant) and with both hands start massaging onto your skin. In a circular motion start at your chin moving out in opposite directions until you reach your jaw line. Repeat this all of the way up your face, on to the top of your forehead. You can do the same thing on your decolletage as well. Rinse with cool water to close back up the pores that were opened with the warm water to begin with. Try to let your face air dry rather than immediately drying it off with a towel.

One very common mistake with exfoliation is that it needs to be done constantly. I assure you, it doesn't. This should only be done about twice a week.  If you're exfoliating more than that, this is what's happening to your skin.
  • You are actually causing more breakout
  • Your skin is producing more oil (which then causes blackheads and clogged pores)
  • You're causing discoloration, hyperpigmentation & broken blood vessels
  • Your skin is drying out
Be sure to use warm water before applying your exfoliant and cool water to rinse just like you do with your cleanser. If you are exfoliating correctly your skin should be left bright, glowing and polished! As long as you don't over due it with massaging. (Products are listed below)

A lot of women think they have skin that is too dry or too oily. Either way, you need to moisturize! We only get one face and ladies (gentlemen too) the younger you take care of your skin, the better!  Make sure that your moisturizer has spf in it, it should be at least spf 15.

Remember, those of you with oily skin. This isn't a bad thing! Oil helps keep the skin hydrated and this in turn prevents wrinkles so don't try to dry your skin out by skimping on the moisturizer or by taking very hot showers. This also drys your skin out.

Review On Kat Von D's Lock It Tattoo Foundation

It's been quite a long time since I've blogged, way too long!

I'm really excited to share my review on Kat Von D's Lock It Tattoo Foundation. I received a sample a few months ago and finally got around to trying it. The review is in, I LOVE it!!

There are 19 different shades to choose from so there's a pretty wide range for most people. The shade I used was light 48. I would like to try one shade darker so I might get myself a sample of it this week when I go to Sephora. Just to make sure I buy the correct shade! The foundation sells at Kat Von D Beauty or Sephora for $35.
This is a high-pigment full coverage foundation that feels incredibly light weight. It gives a matte finish without feeling caked on. If you want amazing coverage this is it. There are no synthetic fragrances, no parabens and it even covers melasma and other kinds of pigmentation.

My skin tends to be incredibly oily especially in this crazy summer heat. That being said, I'm always nervous when trying a new foundation. I did a little experiment today to see how this product would perform. This first photo is me at around 7:30 am right after doing my makeup and heading to work.

I decided I wouldn't use any products through out the day to counter act the daily fight with my skin. This second picture is at about 12:00 pm. I haven't used any MAI COUTURE blotting papiers or powder at this point. (I had changed my lipstick though!)

This last picture is at about 5:00 pm. At this point in the day I have usually blotted a few times, used powder and touched up my blush. Obviously not the best photo of me but who cares! I still have my foundation in place.

I hope you enjoyed this review of Kat Von D's Lock It Tattoo Foundation! If you have any questions or comments feel free to comment below. Make sure to follow me on Facebook and Instagram!

Makeup Artists & Your Wedding

Why your Makeup Artist should be one of the FIRST vendors you hire for your wedding:

There's a cocktail party you are attending on a Wednesday evening at 7pm that you have waited years to be invited to. You head to the mall weeks in advance and buy the most perfect, beautiful, rather expensive dress. You buy new shoes and a handbag to go with it too! Wednesday evening at 5pm you look around and realize you own no makeup, no curling iron, no flat iron... You immediately rush out and frantically try to buy all of the items you want to create the perfect look you've envisioned. Unfortunately, the lipstick you wanted is sold out, the blush you wanted is discontinued, and the store is no longer carrying the brand of curling iron you want.

Does that sound familiar??? Your wedding is one of the most amazing parties you will EVER ATTEND!! It's a day celebrating you and the love of your life. Why would you wait for the last second to book your Makeup Artist and Hairstylist to create the look you've always dreamed of?

I speak with so many Brides who immediately run out and get their dress, a Wedding Planner, their Venue and Photographer as soon as they get engaged. The Makeup and Hair is always left until the last second. Planning your wedding takes a lot of time, energy, and money; why would you wait until the last second to book something that will make such a huge impact on the way you look for your special day?

As a Professional Licensed Makeup Artist I know how to treat all skin types. I work with Brides who never wear makeup and want to look fresh faced and dewy to Brides who want to get all glammed up with super dramatic makeup! The photographer you hire for your wedding is going to capture photographs that you will cherish forever. Make sure that your look is complete. You never want to end up with a gorgeous dress, shoes and wedding, with makeup and hair that you are disappointed in. Remember, just like your favorite Bakers, Photographers and Venues; your favorite Makeup Artists get scooped up by other Brides quickly!

Spring and Summer is booking quickly, make sure to book In2yourBeauty Makeup Artistry for your 2015 or 2016 wedding soon!

Have a great day Beauties! XOXO

Valentines Day Beauty

Looking for the PERFECT Valentines Day look?
I've got you covered!

This Valentines Day it's all about the subtle eyes with winged liner, a pop of pink on the cheeks and a pop of color on the lips. Here's some of my favorites lately!

You can achieve this beautiful winged look with soft neutral creams and brown eye shadows.
For the liner, my go to lately has been the SUPER affordable Maybelline Eye Studio Long Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black. It's about $6-$7 at your local drug store and stays on all day! LOVE IT!!

When I think makeup for Valentines Day I immediately think BLUSH! My favorite pink is by Mai Couture. They have long lasting wear and are so amazing to take on the go for touch ups. My two favorite colors are Prettyful (which is pictured below) and Montecito. I have been using them for a lot of my shoots and brides and everyone loves them. These blush papiers are sold in Ulta, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and can also be found online at

Last but never least we have the lips. For a perfectly colored pout my pick for this year is Plumful by MAC Cosmetics. It's a smooth creamy, color that gives just the right amount of pink to make your lips pop.

I hope you enjoyed this quick guide to Valentines Day makeup, have a fab holiday with your lovies!

Put Your Best Red Forward!

This holiday season you should be looking for the PERFECT red lip!
I personally am loving all of the matte shades. They tend to cling to your lip longer and stain for a rich color. I have picked out my top three reds of the season. They range in price so everyone is sure to find one they love in the price they love too!

First we have my ALL TIME FAV lippie! Ruby Woo Lipstick, it's been around forever! It is a matte red and really stays on for hours. You can buy it at MAC Cosmetics or at a department store that sells MAC Cosmetics. The color retails for $16.00 and is definitely worth every red cent. (hehehe)
Next we have Nars Cosmetics Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. I recently found this color and I have been using it so much! One of my recent brides loved this red and even decided to rock it on her wedding day! Cruella retails for $25.00, I bought mine at Sephora. You can go to to get yours as well.

Now this little lippie is such a great deal!!! Sometimes you just can't beat a good dupe! ELF has done a great job mimicking Nars by creating this matte red lipstick called Rich Red. It retails for $3.00, and can be found at Target, Walmart or on ELF's website  (Who can beat the price?!)

Last but not least this Larger Than Life Lip Gloss called Norma by Nars Cosmetics is great by itself or over your matte red lip to give it a little extra pizzazz. It retails for $26.00 and can be found anywhere that sells Nars Cosmetics or at

Leave feedback about your favorite colors this winter season and make sure to follow my work on In2yourBeauty Makeup Artistry's Facebook page!
Happy Holidays Beauty Fans!

Styled Shoot At Up The Creek Farms

Styled Shoot At Up The Creek Farms
When asked to do this shoot I was a little reluctant since I've been so busy working and trying to buy a house and yada yada yada... But, I am so glad that I decided to be a part of it because as always Harmony Lynn from Harmony Lynn Photography did a stunning job organizing every last detail!

It was shot at Up The Creek Farms which is a GORGEOUS new venue in Valkaria. If you haven't checked it out please do so; the owner Jess is just a doll. It's about 20 minutes south of downtown Melbourne so not far at all.

The theme of the shoot was Southern, vintage and of course I had to throw a pop of color in so I decided to do a bold pink lip. I used the Dinair Airbrush System to make her skin absolutely flawless and for the model's eyes I did a deep purple and vibrant pink blended together.
